Hunting The Elusive Fungi

WASHINGTON – The Institute for American Indian Studies will present a “Fungi Fantasy Mushroom Walk” led by IAIS research associate and mycologist E. Barrie Kavasch.

Ms Kavasch will lead the walk beginning at 2 pm on Saturday, October 30. The walk will last about two hours.

Participants will look for and at the mysterious world of fungi and especially for the “jack-o-lantern mushroom,” which glows in the dark but is never, never eaten.

Fee for this educational experience is $12. Reservations are required; call 860/868-0518. The program will be on the grounds of IAIS, at 38 Curtis Road.
