To the Editor:

This is a letter to express dismay with respect to the discourse on the national level but high praise on the local level for the big election this November.

Mitch Bolinsky is the primary candidate for re-election as a Connecticut state representative from the 106th District. As a former public school educator in Newtown, I am viewing the candidates from the perspective of seeking good character from public officials and the likelihood of success impacting the future of our kids. Mitch Bolinsky stands very tall on both accounts.

As a parent, Mitch is an exemplary role model for his own children. That is evidenced by their affection and testimony, heard many time by me and others in the community. Mitch often expresses his primary identity as a Dad and his desire to make them proud of his service to the community.

As a representative and public servant, Mitch demonstrates a deep concern for the plight of authentic people, who like himself, put family first. That is evidenced by his tenacious attention to detail with various legislative initiatives impacting Newtown and the State of Connecticut. Time after time I have witnessed Mitch performing his duties with the utmost integrity and care.

Therefore, I encourage everyone reading my opinion to give good consideration for Mitch's re-election. I do that only by a motive for the betterment of a community that has blessed me during my time as a teacher!
