James J. Twohey
James J. Twohey, 66, of Bethel, died October 17 at Mediplex of Danbury. He was the former husband of Doris (Emond) Twohey.
He was the brother of June Holmes of Newtown.
Mr Twohey was born in Lawrence, Mass., on October 13, 1934, a son of Edna (Gallant) Twohey and the late Jeremiah Twohey. Raised in Bridgeport, he was a graduate of Fairfield Preparatory School. He was a member of the US Army Reserves and a member of the American Legion Post 100 of Bethel. An avid antiques collector for most of his life, he was also a computer operator, retiring from Air Express in Darien a few years ago. A longtime Bethel resident, he was a parishioner of St Mary Church.
Besides his mother, Mr Twohey is survived by a son, Kieran Twohey, and daughter-in-law Anne of Bethel; and nephews, Ben, Jonathan, and Dan Holmes.
At the request of his family, memorials may be made to New Heights, 66 West Street, Danbury, CT 06810, or to a charity of oneâs choice.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 20, at 11 am at St Mary Church, Bethel. Cremation will be at Connecticut Crematory Corp, Stamford. There are no calling hours.
The Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Avenue, Bethel, is in charge of arrangements.
