At Mattatuck Museum

WATERBURY — The Mattatuck Museum’s art galleries are currently exhibiting 38 works by Connecticut artists who entered its biennial Juried Art Show, “The Connecticut Vision 2000.” Juror for the show was Douglas Hyland, the director of the New Britain Museum of American Art.

Prizes were awarded to the following Connecticut artists: first prize, Susan Fox, “With a Faery go hand in hand,” done in egg tempera; second prize, Nina Bentley, “Veiled Threats,” mixed media; third prize, Caroline Bryan, “Blue Jug,” oil on canvas; fourth prize, Sheila Casey Cummings, “In the Rose Garden,” acrylic and oil on linen; fifth prize, Rainie Crawford, PSA, “Still Life with a Pewter Teapot,” pastel; and sixth prize, Marc Chabot, “A Walk in the Woods,” charcoal.

“Connecticut Vision 2000” will remain on view through November 19. The show, which attracted over 300 entries, features the art of 38 artists.

The Mattatuck Museum is at 144 West Main Street.
