To The Editor:

I was very pleased to see the editorial in the September 27th issue of The Bee titled “Bi-Partisan Effort To Stop Stolen Political Signs.” I have lived in Newtown since 1955 and the vitriol seems to be getting worse and worse. What has happened to Newtown?

I was especially pleased by the comments of Chief Kullgren on the Newtown Police Department Facebook page, which were included in the editorial.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. Please, Newtown voters, don’t let what’s going on at the national level affect voting for what is best for Newtown and Connecticut. Our current state Republican legislators have worked tirelessly for us and achieved many successes despite the fact they are outnumbered by a large majority of Democrats in the House and the Senate and they deserve to be reelected.
