To the Editor:

I enthusiastically support Joan Plouffe for reelection to the Police Commission. Joan is a longtime servant of the town from her years on the Commission on Aging, the Charter Revision Commission, and her work on the Strategic Planning Committee for the school district.

As a lawyer on the Police Commission, Joan’s legal background provides the commission with knowledge of the many state statues and federal laws the commission must strictly follow. As the only woman on the Police Commission, Joan provides a viewpoint that is more representative of the entire community and the women on the Newtown Police force.

On November 5, please join me in reelecting Joan Plouffe to the Police Commission.
