Voters Need To Value Integrity
By Mike McCarthy
To the Editor:
My name is Mike McCarthy, a Fairfield resident for over 25 years.
I am writing this letter to serve as an endorsement for Tony Hwang who is running for re-election as state senator. I have, for many years now, witnessed firsthand awareness of Tony's passion and commitment to his constituents.
Now, more than ever, we need to prioritize integrity in our elected officials - in Tony, we have that in abundance.
There is also the need to address employment opportunities in our state. Tony has championed both small and large businesses launching, maintaining and expanding their operations in Connecticut. His efforts in this area are tangible and real - it is not rhetoric or lip service.
He has worked tirelessly to improve the living conditions of the residents of his district, provided his personal assistance to local victims of Superstorm Sandy, exposed the perils of Metro-North commuting, and supported countless other causes close to the heart of Fairfield residents.
As the former president of MSG Network and CEO of the St Louis Blues, I have witnessed politicians of varying degrees of integrity and commitment - Tony Hwang is the real deal, and Connecticut is lucky to have him.
There is no community concern or charitable cause that has not seen Tony with a full on sense of commitment, with the best interests of his constituents at its core - I watched him personally take specific care of victims and their families during Superstorm Sandy, quietly without fanfare, helping people restore power and recover toward normalcy and return safely back to their homes.
Tony Hwang represents the rarest of traits for a public leader: integrity, work ethic, and real character and public service values. I hope you will join me on Election Day and vote for Tony Hwang.
