Many Helped 'Light The Night'
Many Helped âLight The Nightâ
To the Editor:
The fourth Light the Night Walk held at WestConn in September was a success! The Danbury walk was one of five in Connecticut. The Light the Night Walk is a national fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Thanks to all who attended and donated.
This year a thank you to the local business that purchased mile markers. They were Avance Esthetiques, Newtown Savings Bank, Union Savings Bank, Custom Paint, Compass Capital Management of Southbury, Quota International of Candlewood Valley, and USA Baby-Child Space of Brookfield.
This year we also organized a raffle. Donations were received from Avance Esthetiques of Newtown; Panera Bread of Newtown; Feeling Fit â Kim Petruska, Brookfield; Longaberger Baskets and Mary Kay Cosmetics â Ginny Chion; and Quality Gem of Bethel.
Gregg Simon, Newtown High School athletic director, again sold paper balloons supporting the walk. Gregg tapes them on the wall of the high school pool where our son, Greg, was a member of the Boysâ Swimming and Diving Team. Thanks for caring and remembering Greg. Curt Hopkins of USA Baby-Child Space also sold the paper balloons in Gregâs memory.
Once gain this proves that, âItâs Nicer in Newtown.â
Sincerely
Ginny Chion
