Newtown Hurricanes 23, Monroe 5: Peter Clifford put on a hitting clinic, going 5-for-5 and Henry Primavera had three hits, including a triple. Colin Parker, Brian Kerins, and Connor Barrett followed with two hits each while Scott Alexander scored three runs.
Newtown Hurricanes 13, Southbury 5: Colin Patrick, Peter Clifford, and Matt St. Jean combined to pitch the Hurricanes to the win. Aggressive base running by Brian Kerins and Scott Alexander accounted for three runs apiece while Ben Riley and Aaron Gershon played great defense to limit Southburyâs scoring.
Newtown Hurricanes 17, Redding 2: Newtown received a true team effort, with solid pitching from six different players and superb defense by all. Andrew Lee led the way, going 3-for-5 and just missing hitting for the cycle with a single, a triple, and a home run. He also pitched one inning, striking out all three hitters he faced. Colin Patrick was 5-for-5 and Matt St. Jean went 4-for-5 and contributed a key double play. Matthew Clark pitched well and had a double and triple. Conner Barrett ended the game with a great defensive play at home plate.

Newtown Red Dawgs 11, Southbury 4: Anthony Maki doubled deep to center field and drove in three runs as the Red Dawgs won their six game of the season. Tim Wilder stayed hot with a pair of hits, including a double, and Brian Reed stroked an RBI double. The contest was close until the fourth inning, when Ryan Cassidy singled to spark a four-run rally that put Newtown ahead for good. On the mound, Maki and Reed combined to allow only three hits over five innings. Jon Hull closed the game with two innings of scoreless relief. Key defensive plays for Newtown came from second baseman Dan Tomascak and third baseman-catcher Kyle Wilcox, whose rifle arm was on display from beginning to end.
Newtown Red Dawgs 19, New Milford 3: The red-hot bats of Tim Wilder, Alex Nordstrom, and Kyle Wilcox carried the Red Dawgs. Wilder was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Nordstrom also had three hits, including a double, and scored three runs. Wilcox went 4-for-4 with a pair of triples and four RBI. Ryan Kleinert and Adam Morehouse also chipped in with multi-hit games. New Milford managed only five singles off a trio of Red Dawg hurlers. Brian Reed started on the hill, striking out four of the six batters he faced. Richie Sandler followed with three innings of two-hit relief. Anthony Maki closed with a shutout inning as the Dawgs improved to 5-2.
