A ‘Harvest Of Arts’

At Arbors Auditorium

SOUTHBURY — Residents and staff of East Hill Woods are preparing a special one-day arts exhibition for the public’s enjoyment. On Wednesday, October 25, from 1 to 5pm, the show will be presented in East Hill Woods’ Arbors Auditorium, at 611 East Hill Road.

Sponsored by the residents, “Harvest of Arts” will feature a plethora of art forms and mediums. There will be oils, watercolors and pastels, quilting, needlepoint, macramé, crocheting and knitting, poetry, woodworking, sculptures, and collections.

New attractions this year include a video presentation created by residents of Heritage Village from their presentation of the revue Hooray For Hollywood. A second video presentation will offer a performance by resident Pat Parmelee on marimba.

An audio tape entitled Harpsichord Magic will also be played during the show. Created by Donald Angle, the work presents a new perspective on the harpsichord by creating unique variations of familiar melodies such as “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” “Sophisticated Lady,” “All Of Me,” and others.

The festival is dedicated to the late artist Mildred Calder-Kilgore, to honor her many years of dedication to the arts at East Hill Woods. Several of Mrs Calder-Kilgore’s paintings will be exhibited during “Harvest of Arts.”

The festival is open to the public, free of charge. A donation of a non-perishable food item for Southbury Food Bank is being requested in lieu of an admission charge. For additional information, call 262-6161.
