Marvin Zimmer
Marvin Seymour Zimmer, 88, of Trumbull, husband of the late Wilma (Spewak) Zimmer, died peacefully October 11, in Bridgeport Hospital. He was born in Torrington, son of the late Harry and Ida (Wolff) Zimmer.
Mr Zimmer was a post World War II veteran, serving in the Air Force band; where he served in Tokyo, Japan; learning much about Japanese culture. After his military service, he went to college attaining a master's degree, and working in many colorful jobs including photography until he settled on teaching instrumental music. During that time, he married Wilma (Spewak) Zimmer. He taught in the Monroe and Newtown public schools until retirement.
Two children, Jill (Zimmer) Penn and Geoffrey Zimmer and his wife, Nadine; grandchildren; Joshua Penn, James Penn, Stephanie Zimmer, and Nicholas Zimmer; and two great-grandchildren survive him.
His brothers, Raymond and Norman Zimmer, predeceased him.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Spring Meadows assisted living center in Trumbull for all their kindness and expertise keeping Mr Zimmer happy in his waning years.
Graveside services were conducted October 16 at Mt Grove Cemetery, Easton.
