Chris Schaefer and Zach Johnson, instructors from Steve DeMasco’s Shaolin Studios of Newtown, shared a presentation on martial arts with students at Children’s Adventure Center on Thursday, October 8.

Mr Schaefer explained at the start of the presentation that the most important thing when practicing kung-fu is to listen. He asked students to form a circle before he began demonstrating and walking the students through a number of moves.

As students advanced through different “levels” of the presentation, Mr Johnson went around the circle with a pool noodle and students practiced jumping over it.

“Jump like Spider-Man,” said Mr Schaefer to a number of laughs from his students for the day.

Children’s Adventure Center student Jake Nicolaides jumped over a pool noodle held by Steve DeMasco’s Shaolin Studios of Newtown instructor Zach Johnson during the kung-fu demonstration and lesson.
