Ezio DiCristofaro

Ezio “Chris” DiCristofaro, 83, of Wolcott died peacefully October 14 at the VITAS Unit at St Mary’s Hospital, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Lena (Perrone) DiCristofaro. He was born in Pratola, Peligna, Italy, November 24, 1930, and was the son of the late Aida (Ramunno) and Gugliemo DeCristofaro.

Besides his wife of 55 years, he leaves his daughters, Kathryn Colucci, and her husband Robert, of Newtown, Sandra Lewis, and her husband Judson III, of Waterbury, and Lynn DiCristofaro of Wolcott; his son, William DiCristofaro, and his wife Kathleen, of East Haddam; grandchildren, Jessica Lewis, Mary, and Deborah DiCristofaro, and Stephanie and Daniel Colucci; sisters Eva Venezia and Elena Wermers; and several nieces, nephews, and brothers- and sisters-in-law.

He earned his bachelor's and master’s degrees from Central Connecticut State College and also attended the Rochester Institute of Technology. He was a schoolteacher for many years at the JFK Middle School in Southington.

Mr DiCristofaro was a 4th Degree Knight for the Sheridan Council #24 Knights of Columbus in Waterbury and was a former Grand Knight. He was a communicant of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception and an active auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary. He did some volunteer work and maintenance at My Father’s House Retreat Center in Moodus.

He loved to travel with his wife.  

Calling hours will be held Friday, October 17, from 5 to 8 pm, at the Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 18, at 9 am, from the funeral home to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Church, 74 West Main Street, Waterbury, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
