Net Rippers Tear Through Tourney

The Newtown Net Rippers were the U10 boys’ soccer champs at the Columbus Day Tournament in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. this past weekend. The Net Rippers played five games and four were shutout wins. Newtown defeated Southbury 3-2 in to win the tourney. Nick Harper assisted Matt Gerbo’s game-winning goal. The defense of Silas Decker, Rockin’ Ryan Brello, Adam Bergeron, Amazing Andy Greenwood, Hunter Procaccini and Kickin’ Connor Barrett created an impenetrable wall protecting goalies, Bergeron and Decker. The offense was driven by Matt Booch-Bucci, Mighty Mark Hall, Matt Gerbo, and the speedy quick Brendan O’Hara. Middies Josh Harper, Nick Harper and Evan Eggleston controlled the field.
