Fingerprinting, Gun Permit Fees Increased
A new state law that took effect on October 1 increases the fees which the police department charges for certain services.
The cost for a person to be fingerprinted for identification reference purposes has increased from $10 to $15.
Also, the pistol permit application fee has increased. In addition to the former fee of $19.25, applicants will now be charged a fee of $50, for an overall cost of $69.25.
The application fee for a 60-day temporary pistol permit (local level) has increased from $35 to $70.
Also, the application fee for a state permit to carry pistols or revolvers, for both new permits and renewed permits, has increased from $35 to $70.
Any applications that were submitted for review before October 1 are subject to the fee increases.
