Echo Valley Road

Police are investigating an incident of criminal mischief in which someone intentionally damaged a curbside residential mailbox on Echo Valley Road.

The vandalism occurred sometime between 10:30 pm on October 9, and 5:30 am on October 10. Police ask anyone with information on the property damage to contact them at the police station at 426-5841, or at 270-8888.

Serenity Lane

About 8:19 pm on October 6, motorist Christopher Veness, 21, of 3 Prospect Terrace, who was driving a 2007 Scion TC coupe westward on Serenity Lane, crossed over onto the street’s opposite travel lane and then drove through the front yard at 8 Serenity Lane, striking a tree and a stone wall before the vehicle came to rest in the driveway, police report.

Veness was not injured. Police said they issued him a misdemeanor summons listing charges of failure to have automotive insurance and failure to drive to the right on a curve.

Road Sign

Police are investigating an incident that occurred at about 2:45 pm October 9, in which an unknown motorist was driving a vehicle westward on Berkshire Road, near its intersection with Zoar Road, when the unknown vehicle crossed the road and went off the eastbound road shoulder, striking a state road sign.

The driver then left the scene of the crash. Police ask anyone with knowledge of the incident to contact Officer Michael McGowan at 426-5841.

Chrysler in Ditch

Motorist Trevor Todd, 17, of 44 Hundred Acres Road was driving a 2003 Chrysler 300-M sedan eastward on Eden Hill Road about 7 pm October 5, when he briefly took his eyes off the road, resulting in the auto going off the right road shoulder and entering a ditch, police said.

Todd was not injured. Police issued him a written warning for making a restricted turn.

Saab Vs Lincoln

About 5:36 pm October 7, motorist Kimberly Lydon, 39, of 6 Fawnwood Road, who was driving a 2008 Lincoln MKX, was waiting in line for a red traffic signal on eastbound Church Hill Road at its intersection with Commerce Road, police said.

Eastbound motorist Jeannie Rowan, 49, of 65 Chipmunk Trail, who was driving a 1999 Saab 9-3 hatchback, then struck the rear end of the Lincoln, police report.

There were no injuries. Rowan received a written warning for following too closely, according to police.
