The subject of the October 18 Bible Lesson-Sermon will be “Doctrine of Atonement.” Golden Text — II Corinthians 5:20 (“…be ye reconciled to God”).  Wednesdays from 7:30 to 8:30 pm there are readings from the Bible and the Christian Science textbook Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, followed by testimonies of healing through prayer. This interdenominational Christian church meets Sundays, 10:30 am–12:30 am, for Morning Worship, with fellowship immediately following the service. Additional programs and services include: The Lion of Judah Reach Out Ministry, which helps men and women and teens transition from prison life to society; shelter for battered and abused women; housing for ex-offenders and battered women. Lion of Judah Reach Out Ministry also provides counseling and clothing for teens. A drill team for teens, including musical instruments, is also available for teens. Volunteers welcome. “Great Service,” based on Mark 10:35–45, will be the sermon given by the Rev Janice Touloukian during the worship service on Sunday, October 18. Following the Children’s Message the children will go to their Garden Church School classes to learn about Moses. The third grade class will also have a visit from their pastors, who will speak with them about their new bibles. Child care is available for ages 3 and under. Trinity will host a special 8:30 am Morning Prayer for stewardship canvassers at 8:30 am on Sunday, October 18; there will be no regular services. A special worship service and potluck dinner will be celebrated at 4:30 that afternoon, however. As part of the dinner, Trinity’s fifth and sixth graders will lead parishioners to join millions of people worldwide in a “Stand Up And Take Action” program, part of the Millennium Development Goals the church has embraced.
