Spook Run

 

The 9th annual 5k Halloween Spook Run, sponsored by the Brookfield Parks and Recreation Department, will be held Sunday, October 29, at 10 am, beginning at the Brookfield Municipal Center at 100 Pocono Road in Brookfield. Race-day registration will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 am. Pre-registration is $12 while race-day registration is $15. T-shirts to first 300 registered. Prizes to top runners in seven different age groups. A Kids K Fun Run will also be held, starting at 9:30 am, and costs $9 (prize and t-shirt included). Call 1-203-775-7310.

Breeze Fastpitch Softball

 

The Connecticut Breeze U19 girls’ fast pitch softball team still needs three players for the summer 2001 season. The team plans to play six tournaments (three local, three travel). If interested, please call Mark McCusker at 426-1501 or email at markmccusker@cibase.com

 

Referee Recertification

 

The Newtown Soccer Club will hold a recertification class for all referees on Thursday, November 2, from 7 to 10 pm, in the Newtown Middle School cafeteria. To attend, you must pre-register as outlined in the CJSA 2001 Referee Recertification packet all refs received in September. On the evening of the class, please be certain to bring a pencil, paper, and a check for $30 for refs of grades 7 and 8 (this applies to all middle school and high school children) and $45 for refs of grades 5 and 6.
