Fall Book Donation Day, sponsored by the Friends of the C.H. Booth Library, is set for Sunday, October 29, rain or shine from noon to 5 pm, in the rear parking lot of C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street. Volunteers will be on hand to help unload vehicles and provide tax receipts.

In addition to new and gently-used books, the Friends welcomes good-condition DVDs, CDs, video games, complete jigsaw puzzles and board games, and LPs. Books of antiquarian interest are also appreciated.

Note that the Friends cannot accept multi-volume encyclopedias, Time-Life Series and Reader’s Digest books, VHS tapes, or outdated reference books, text books or travel guides. Magazines and free publications are also discouraged.

Donated items enable the Friends to raise money for the Booth Library at the big annual summer book sale, tentatively scheduled for July 12-16, 2024, at Reed Intermediate School; the annual Holiday Sale, returning to the library December 2-3; and the Friends-operated Little Book Store, open year-round near the circulation desk on the second floor of the library.

“Our Fall Book Donation Day is a great opportunity for you to start preparing your home for the upcoming holiday season while putting your items to work for a worthy cause. Just pack up your vehicle, and our volunteers will unload it for you in the parking lot,” says Donation Day Coordinator Denise Kaiser. “To speed things up even more, please pack your donations in bags or boxes that you don’t need back.”

For those unable to make it on October 29, donations can be left in the Friends Donation Room opposite the elevator on the library’s lower level anytime the library is open.
