James F. Seeley, Jr, 81, a resident of Danbury for more than 60 years, and previously of Brookfield, died October 13 at his home. He was the husband of the late Lorraine A. (Carrine) Seeley. He was born in Bridgeport, and was the son of James F., Sr, and Lucy Ryan Seeley.

A 1950 graduate of Danbury High School, he attended Western Connecticut State College, and was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr Seeley was stationed in France.

He was employed at the Barden Corporation in Danbury until the time of his death, working there for more than 60 years. He was a longtime secretary of the Concordia Society and secretary and chief scorer of the Southern New York Racing Association. Mr Seeley was an avid NASCAR fan.

Survivors include his daughters, Christine M. Neves, and her husband Glenn, of Newtown; Terri O'Neil, and her husband Tim, of New Milford and San Diego, Calif., and Judith Johnston, and her husband Tom, of Middlebury; his son, James F. Seeley III of Danbury; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Dale, Troy, Jackie, Jessica, Alle, and Olivia; a sister, Betsy Ard; and many nieces and nephews. His wife and parents; his brother-in-law, Robert Ard, Sr; and a nephew predeceased Mr Seeley.

Friends will be received Friday, October 17, from 4 to 8 pm, at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury. A prayer service will be conducted in the funeral home, Friday evening, at 7:45 pm. Burial will be in St Peter Cemetery, Danbury, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Concordia Society Scholarship Fund, 6 Crosby Street, Danbury CT 06810.
