Edward C. Thompson, 52, of Newtown, died October 8. He was born in Queens, N.Y., June 12, 1962, and was the son of the late Jane E. (DuFlon) and William H. Thompson.

With his family, he moved to Ridgefield at an early age, attended Ridgefield schools, and graduated from Ridgefield High School in the Class of 1980.  He met and married his wife Laura of 28 years in 1986. 

He was employed with the US Postal Service for 28 years.

His wife; their two daughters, Ashley and Courtney Thompson of Newtown; a sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Joseph Fossi of Ridgefield; uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins survive Mr Thompson.  A brother, James W. Thompson, predeceased him. 

The family will receive friends at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, Saturday, October 18, from 1 to 4 pm.
