Vipers Win Cape Cod Tourney
Vipers Win Cape Cod Tourney
The Vipers, a U10 boysâ soccer team, traveled to Cape Cod for the Barnstable Fall Tournament, recently, and won all three games. Results are as follows:
Vipers 5, Plymouth Orange 1: Hats off to the Vipersâ defense, especially to Danny Schreiber who provided superior foot work, helping the Vipers allow a total of just three shots on and one in the goal. The Vipers pulled ahead early in the game with ongoing attacks by Bryce Bisset (1 goal) and Dylan Sock (2). Travais Huzina ruled the midfield with great hustle in the second half, and scored twice. Owen Sullivan aggressively handled the ball and had three shots on goal.
Vipers 1, Plymouth White 0: Facing a very strong opponent, the Vipers held tight and kept the pressure on Plymouth White throughout the game. The defensive line of Jackson Dooley, Adam Farley, and Danny Schreivers fought hard at protecting goalkeeper CJ Trivers and allowed only two shots on goal. The play of the game came when Sean Arnold received a punt from goal, and headed the ball to Bryce Bisset who, in turn, headed it back to Arnold who then headed it down to his foot, never allowing the ball to touch the ground, and one timed it into the back of the net (all while loosing a tooth during the play).
Vipers 5, Barnstable 0: Playing the very talented host team, the Vipers held tight once again for the shutout. In the first half, CJ Trivers repeatedly attacked the ball. Jackson Dooley controlled the defense throughout the game. Bryce Bisset scored early and Dylan Sock scored on a rocket penalty kick. Declan Sughrue played in the goal in the first half then played up and scored two goals in the second half. Adam Farley was a fierce defender and continually fed the ball up to the offense. Henry Vaughan ruled the midfield both offensively and defensively and scored on beautiful chip over the goalie.
