To the Editor:
It is my pleasure to support incumbent Chris Lyddy for reelection as Newtownâs state representative. During his first, very successful, term Chris has proven to be mature, responsible, and caring. He has represented Newtown well in Hartford. I am particularly impressed by his dedication to our entire community â from our seniors to our school children. Chris has worked hard to ensure that our children receive a quality education while also ensuring their health and safety while at school. Chris has been a well-rounded representative for Newtown, having also focused on public health, energy efficiency, and environmental issues. He is enthusiastic, responsive, and always available to his constituents, as evidenced by his local office hours and his attendance at seemingly every community event.
A listing of Chrisâs many accomplishments and awards from his first term in Hartford may be found on his website, http://chrislyddy.com/index.html. His opponentâs voting record and public comments during his brief tenure as a member of the Legislative Council demonstrates interests and priorities that are quite different from Chrisâs interests and priorities when it comes to supporting our children and our schools. Mr Fergusonâs voting record and comments are contained in the Legislative Couincilâs meeting minutes, which may be viewed at www.newtownct.gov/Public_Documents/NewtownCT_LegCouncilMin/.
Chris has earned reelection and my vote. I hope you will join me in supporting our community by voting for Chris Lyddy on November 2.
