Anthony Rudolph Tomassetti

World War II Navy Veteran

Anthony Rudolph Tomassetti, 87, died October 9, in Dunedin, Fla. He was born April 16, 1923, in Bridgeport to Mary and Alphonse Tomassetti.

Mr Tomassetti is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth Shirley (Hawkins) Tomassetti, of Dunedin; three sons, James of Newtown, Paul and his wife, Carol, of Shelton, and Ronald of Port Richie, Fla.; three grandchildren; and a sister.

He served proudly during World War II in the Navy, aboard a destroyer. After the war, he worked as a mason for various companies in Connecticut, most recently building St Vincent Hospital in Bridgeport.

Mr Tomassetti loved woodworking and furniture, dancing, and bowling. He will be greatly missed by members of his family and friends.

A memorial service will be scheduled in Florida at the family’s convenience.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.
