U13 Lax Team Wins Fall Tourney

The Newtown Blue U13 boys’ lacrosse team won its division in the annual Newtown Fall 7v7 Lacrosse Tournament on Saturday, October 8. More than 25 teams from surrounding towns, including Ridgefield, Monroe, Brookfield, Danbury, and Guilford were on hand as usual. The competition was great in all divisions – U15, U13, and U11.

The Newtown U13 Blue team played fierce games against Ridgefield, John Jay, and Brookfield. Blue defeated John Jay 12-7 to take the crown. A solid defensive effort was anchored by goalie Gino Pagliaro with assistance from close defenders Max Goldstein, Cyril Brown, and Alex Street. The midfield play was led by Mitchell Savoca and Patrick Conte with great effort on ground balls by Matt Bucci, Layton Harell, and Elliot Gregory. The attack was solid with big play from Ryan Marusi, Ethan Tousignant, Ryan Campell, and Ethan Hoffman.
