To the Editor:
Paul Lundquist listens to the many voices of Newtown. His aim is to hear the disparate opinions about the strengths and needs of Newtown and then to play a role in coalescing these to create a vision for the future of our town.
Paul has performed this role already for Newtown. Five years ago, he volunteered his time and talents to create and implement a research study entitled, âThe Way Things Are in Newtown.â This comprehensive nonpartisan survey of the residents of Newtown was conducted among over 800 Newtown families. Following this, Paul served as Board of Education liaison to the Hawley School PTAâs executive committee. From there he was chosen to act as interim representative on the Legislative Council, a position he held for six months. Most recently Paul accepted the challenge to serve on the Fairfield Hills Master Plan Review Committee. The report from this committeeâs 15-month effort was presented recently to the Board of Selectmen. The recommendations from this report will help shape the townâs strategy at Fairfield Hills for years to come.
Now, once again, Paul Lundquist is offering his time and skills to the town of Newtown. As a Democratic candidate for the Legislative Council in District 1, Paul remains low-key and humble about the tremendous skill set he offers. As his wife, however, I cannot let pass the opportunity to sing the praises of this wonderful man. Paul is as honest and responsible a man as one could ever know. He is a loving and inspirational father to our two sons. He is a caring and trustworthy friend. I know that he is passionate about Newtown, our home for almost the entirety of our 15 years of married life. Please join me in supporting him in his candidacy for Legislative Council. Newtown needs a person as devoted and capable as he is and our town will only gain from Paulâs talents and experience.
