Deborra Zukowski is the appropriate candidate for membership on the Planning & Zoning Commission. We need only review her capabilities with the requirements of this commission to understand why she is a perfect candidate for this position.

Planning in organizations and public policy is both the organizational process of creating and maintaining a plan; and the psychological process of thinking about the activities required to create a desired goal. It is a fundamental property of intelligent behavior and a personal characteristic of hers. This thought process is essential to the creation and refinement of a plan, or the evaluation of a proposal. She has demonstrated throughout her tenure on the Fairfield Hills Master Plan Review Committee that a thorough and complete review of every issue must be obtained before making any decision that impacts Newtown and its citizens. An important, albeit often ignored aspect of making decisions today that have impact on our quality of life tomorrow, is her ability to look at tomorrow before rushing to judgment. While forecasting can predict what the future could look like, planning predicts what the future will look like. Given her ability to evaluate the most complex problems, project into the future, provide workable and doable solutions, she is well suited for membership on this commission. I have personally witnessed her ability to gather data on existing conditions, evaluate community resources, organize public discussion and input, and analyze alternatives assuring the best possible results.

These definitions/descriptions and processes identify Deborra Zukowski. She has demonstrated these characteristics throughout her committee performance on the Fairfield Hills Master Plan Review Committee (FFHMPRC) and is dedicated to community service.

Further, she is a graduate of MIT with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, has 11 granted patents, with four additional pending. She is a creative and disciplined thinker proficient at uncovering core issues. Her introduction to an issue motivates her to perform detailed investigations, which promote searches for the truth rather than settling for politically correct solutions. Having participated on this Master Plan Review Committee has demonstrated her unbiased review of critical issues affecting Newtown and Fairfield Hills. Being an unaffiliated candidate separates her from the political issues often promoted by partisan politics and promotes our quality of life issues here in Newtown.

As an independent voter I urge you to consider Deborra Zukowski for this position. Her abilities far exceed any political ambitions, which means that the citizens of Newtown will be the winners, because she will serve all the people of Newtown and for all the right reasons.
