To the Editor:

In a few short weeks the voters in Newtown will have an opportunity to select their representatives to various town offices. One of these important government bodies is the Police Commission, and I sincerely ask everyone to consider Paul Mangiafico for a seat on this vital town commission.

I have known Paul for many years, and I am confident that his intellect, common sense, and ability to think outside the box will bring much-needed reform to this commission. Besides his extensive background in management, business and engineering, he has also served the citizens of Newtown with distinction as a Board of Education member for four years and as a selectman for two years. He is a fiscally conservative individual with a generous amount of compassion and understanding for the needs of others.

One of Paul’s strong points is his ability to intuitively apply his problem-solving skills in a forthright and practical manner. He will bring a much-needed proactive approach to the responsibilities of this commission. I will cast my vote for Paul Mangiafico without hesitation, and I urge everyone to do the same.
