I am happy to write in support of Jim Gaston for Board of Selectman. Jim Gaston has a long track record of getting things done. When you cast your ballot you should vote for Republican for Pat Llodra for First Selectman, and Democrat, Jim Gaston for second/third selectman.

It would appear that Mr Furrier running for first selectman has no interest in the first selectman’s position as he has hardly campaigned for it, and for an individual with young children, college educations, it is hardly fathomable to give up a good job in a very difficult job market, with the low potentiality of success at the first selectman’s level.

A produced copy of a letter to his employer representing that he will resign from his present job if elected to the position of first selectmen might dispel the growing suspicions. It would have been the natural thing to do. To run for a position one is not intending to fulfill is devious and disingenuous. Mr Furrier needs to dispel that rumor by presenting the employment letter from his employer. Without it, the candidate Furrier is really intending to secure a second/third Board of Selectmen seat by competing one on one with Pat Llodra, and not as one of three candidates facing Mr Rodgers and Mr Gaston…clever, but disingenuous. This is not the type of representation we Newtowners want our political parties and their candidates to engage in.
