There is no Eucharist or sermon during a Taizé service. The experience has the opportunity of deepening one’s faith through the power of prayer. All are encouraged to participate as the spirit moves them, whether that be in song, prayer, or quiet meditation.

The service is also followed by laying on of hands and anointing for healing.

A volunteer Taizé Choir and instrumentalists of the Taizé Ensemble are led by Trinity’s Music Minister Fiona Smith Sutherland in the beautiful, candlelit nave of Trinity Church. All are invited to join the choir or ensemble at 7 pm in the Trinity Choir Room to review the chants prior to the service.

For more information about the Taizé Choir and Ensemble, this service or the other musical offerings at Trinity, contact Ms Smith Sutherland at 203-426-9070, extension 11, www.TrinityNewtownCT.org, or Musicminister@TrinityNewtownCT.org.

The church is at 36 Main Street, with plenty of parking available off Main Street and Church Hill Road.
