Studio Tour In Redding, October 16

REDDING — On Sunday, October 16, the Redding League of Women Voters will sponsor the Artists of Redding Studio Tour. From noon to 5 pm, the studios of seven Redding artists will be open to the public, some for the first time. The artists will be on hand throughout the afternoon to talk about their workplaces, and their work.

The studios belong to Kathy Anderson, Babette Bloch, Hansi Engel, James Grashow, Marc Mellon, Erin Nazzaro and Victoria Wyndham. The medium and styles of the artists involved in the tour are as varied as the studios where they ply their art.

Kathy Anderson, who paints in both oil and watercolor, specializes in gardens and landscapes. Hansi Engel, whose medium is watercolor, shares Anderson’s fondness for flowers and landscapes, many of the latter featuring local scenes.

Marc Mellon and Babette Bloch are both nationally known sculptors, he in bronze and she in laser-cut stainless steel. The two artists, husband and wife, have “his and her” studios in their home.

The bold paintings of Erin Nazzaro, who works in oil, acrylic and watercolor, reflect her years of travel in Mexico and South America. Victoria Wyndham’s body of work ranges from sculpture to collage to abstracts paintings in oil and acrylic

James Grashow’s art includes large environmental installations, whimsical house plants (where buildings replace flowers) and woodcuts that have appeared in publications throughout the United States.

For information and tickets ($35 per person), call 203-938-0666 or email reddingart@optonline.net with a name and address.  Tickets will be mailed along with a brochure containing a brief biography of each artist and a map with the addresses of their studios.  Tour participants can visit the studios in whatever order they choose and stay at each as long as they want.  Tickets will also be available at each studio on the day of the event.
