Rosanna Angelina Babasick

Rosanna Angelina (Rizzo) Babasick, 88, of Watertown, formerly of Newtown, died October 11, at River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury. She was born September 12, 1923, in Port Chester, N.Y., daughter of Benedatta (Lisanti) and Angelo Rizzo. She was the wife of 58 years to the late Andrew J. Babasick, Jr.

Before becoming a resident at River Glen, she resided in Watertown and was a longtime resident of Newtown. She was a member of St Rose Parish in Newtown for many years.

Mrs Babasick worked as an inspector at Vitramont in Trumbull.

While at River Glen, she was the president of the resident council, known as “El Presidente” by her aides and staff, and enjoyed bowling.

She leaves four sons and their wives, Steven and Bonnie Babasick and Kenneth and Teresa Babasick of Oakville, Richard and Debbie Babasick of Phoenix, Ariz., Michael and Jane Babasick of Brentwood Tenn.; two daughters, Patricia Partington, and her husband William, of Southbury and Elizabeth Caswell of Watertown; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two brothers-in-law and their wives, John and Anne Babasick and Joseph and Phyllis Babasick. Six siblings predeceased Mrs Babasick.

The family would to thank the staff at River Glen Health Care Center for the care and friendship they showed Rose during her stay.

Calling hours will take place Friday, October 14, at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, from 5 to 8 pm. A Mass will take place Saturday, October 15, at 10 am, at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Newtown.
