Newtown High Swimmers Make It Eight Straight

Newtown High School’s girls’ swimming and diving team continued it’s season-long unbeaten streak with a pair of victories – over visiting Lauralton Hall of Milford on October 7 and host Bunnell of Stratford on Tuesday – to improve to 8-0. The Nighthawks beat Lauralton 103-82 and topped Bunnell 89-76.

Newtown Coach Zach Gauvin said Lauralton provided the best competition his team has faced thus far, and that his girls swam tough. “Hopefully the experience that we gained from swimming a team as good as Lauralton will help give us an edge in the upcoming weeks,” Gauvin said.
