Five Charges
Police said that at about 7 pm on October 11, they stopped motorist Ian Archer, 19, of 60 Flat Swamp Road near 50 Elm Drive to investigate.
Police said they charged Archer with traveling unreasonably fast, possession of less than four ounces marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of an illegal knife in a motor vehicle.
After processing the case, police released Archer on $400 bail for an October 25 court appearance.
Intersection Accident
A two-vehicle accident occurred about 12:36 pm October 12 at the intersection of Sugar Street, Main Street, Glover Avenue, and South Main Street.
Motorist Kim Scriven, 45, of Johnstown, N.Y., who was driving a 2007 Hyundai sedan eastward on Sugar Street, stopped for a traffic signal at the intersection, after which the Hyundai was struck from behind by motorist Jacob Schwartz, 60, of 17 Sweet Meadow Road, who was driving a 2001 Ford Expedition SUV, police report.
There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Schwartz for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Altercation
About 2:50 pm on October 11, police responded to a report of a verbal altercation at a Flat Swamp Road residence.
Police said that in investigating the incident, they located two people in a traveling vehicle who had left the scene of the altercation before police had arrived.
Police said they charged the passenger in that vehicle, Marcus Graham, 20, of Waterbury with disorderly conduct and with second-degree threatening. Graham was released on a written promise to appear in court on October 25.
Also, police said that they gave the driver of that vehicle, David Hyde, 19, of 3 Owl Ridge Lane, an infraction ticket on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. That violation carries a $136 fine.
