CarFit Safety Program

For Senior Drivers

SOUTHBURY — On Saturday, October 22, from 10 am to 2 pm, the Aging in Place Resource Center will present its second CarFit Safety Program for Senior Drivers. This free, 12-point testing of drivers aged 65 and older will help participants learn how their personal cars “fit” their current capabilities and needs for safety.

Supported with volunteers from Easter Seals, CarFit check-ups for seniors will be conducted in collaboration with AAA-American Automobile Association, AARP, American Society on Aging, and the American Occupational Therapy Association to help senior drivers learn if their cars need adjustments or adaptations for greater safety.

CarFit testing will be held in the rear of Union Square Plaza, 385 Main Street South, but testing spots are limited. To reserve space, call The Aging In Place Resource Center at 877-262-1671.
