A Successful Fundraiser
A Successful Fundraiser
To the Editor:
The Artful Bras/2 by 2 event last weekend was a very successful fundraising effort for Annâs Place/Home of I Can due in large part to the many wonderful volunteers who worked on this event.
There are so many wonderful people out there that they are too numerous to mention in this letter, but we do want them to know how much they are appreciated.
Dr Richard Coopersmith introduced the models and hosted a live auction for the many bras, boxers, and donated items. He surely was very animated, and had everyone in a great bidding mode!
Valerie Caraluzzi was our featured songstress, and the Boplicity Band provided music throughout the evening as well as for Valerie. Sunday afternoon we were entertained by the Lathrop School of Dance and the WestConn a cappella group. Fantastic entertainers all! Of course, we do want to recognize Shannon Hicks of The Newtown Bee for the complete and wonderful coverage of this effort.
Everyone in attendance was amazed at the transformation of the Alexandria Room at Edmond Town Hall to represent a cabaret. Tables were adorned with decorations and dining plates in a black, white, and red color scheme with posters of that era all around the room welcoming our guests.
The event was a huge success and we look forward to working with everyone again next year to help raise funds for this most generous benefactor. Annâs Place services men, women, and children who are experiencing the effects of cancer in some way at no cost to the recipient.
Again, many thanks from us for your generous hearts.
Most Sincerely,
Rosemary Rau, President
