Since Red Rooster Pub opened at 160 South Main Street in November 2016, it has been the go-to place in town to gather with friends, family, and coworkers to socialize while enjoying great food or just an adult beverage or two at the bar.

Not only does its name feature Newtown’s iconic rooster, but it also has the hometown feel to match.

The all-natural reclaimed wood interior — acquired from an antique barn demolition project in New York — and other Red Rooster Pub’s rustic interior features provide a casual, cozy atmosphere. From most seats indoors, and especially from the bar, patrons can see at least one TV and catch up on live sports or news.

Red Rooster Pub has one of the largest bars in the area, serving a wide and popular variety of draft beers on tap, as well as martinis, cocktails, and non-alcoholic offerings. Bar hours extend from when the restaurant opens until the last guest is done and satisfied.

Speaking of the bar, since the spring, customers have been raving about RRP’s very popular infusion cocktails. More than half-a-dozen custom and home-made infusions are offered as either cocktails or martinis including:

The Rooster Breeze — featuring Ketel One vodka, lemonade, ice tea, and strawberry purée;

The Red Spicy Margarita — with jalapeño infused tequila, fresh jalapeños, lime, and a spiced rim; and

The Blackberry Peach Whiskey Smash — infused with blackberry and peach whiskey, Amaretto, pineapple, mint, and club soda.

Red Rooster’s talented bartenders are always mixing themed and seasonal cocktails that are changed up year-round including for Halloween, winter holidays, and even skinny mixes come New Year for those looking to trim down.

Red Rooster has recently enhanced its Wine List as well — and offers a new boutique line of whiskeys and bourbons, Scotches, and tequilas along with popular, legacy spirit brands. Brew lovers can quench their thirst sampling from 16 draft beer lines, which always include six unique or seasonal options that change regularly

To keep you occupied during your visit, the Pub has also brought back some favorite retro bar games and has installed a cornhole pit.

Parties in its private dining room can be booked for up to 20 people, and when the weather is nice, its 85-seat patio is open for guests to dine outdoors. There are large umbrellas at each table and a variety of greenery to enliven the space.

All year-round, Red Rooster Pub serves up a mouthwatering selection of comfort food. It is the perfect place to grab a burger, enjoy a specialty pizza, or share a generous appetizer with the whole table.

Those looking to get takeout can place an order by calling the restaurant at 203-270-0788, by coming in, or utilizing one of several delivery options including Doordash, Slice, Uber Eats, or GrubHub. Delivery can be initiated online by visiting redroosterct.com.
