Field Hockey Team Plays For Cancer Foundation

Newtown High School’s field hockey team will host Lauralton Hall of Milford on Wednesday, October 14, under the lights at Blue & Gold Stadium, starting at 7 o’clock. Wednesday’s game is Newtown’s Play4TheCure game to raise funds for the National Foundation for Cancer Research.

Also, the Nighthawks will have an additional home game this week. The Friday, October 16 clash with Pomperaug of Southbury, originally slated to take place on the road, has been moved to Newtown, and will be played at Blue & Gold Stadium, beginning at 4:15 pm.

The Nighthawks (5-2-1-1) are coming off a 1-0 overtime loss at Joel Barlow of Redding, on October 10. In their last home game, October 9, the Nighthawks blanked Brookfield 2-0.
