To the Editor:
As an elected member of the Board of Finance, I understand the financial needs of our town and how difficult it is every year to meet the needs of the citizens while trying to keep taxes low. I also see first-hand how decisions made by the state government affect our local budget.
When it comes to the State Representative race this year, JP Sredzinski is the only candidate that has actually worked on a municipal budget in Monroe. He has sat there with the Town Council, the Board of Education and the Board of Finance to make difficult decisions and weigh costs versus benefits. He understands what it means to say “no” to a very well intentioned cause because of the impact it will have on taxpayers. He has also said “yes” when the needs of our community should be met.
Without any hesitation I am supporting JP for State Rep because I have seen how hard he works on budgets in our town and I am certain he will work just as hard in Hartford to be part of the solution when it comes to our state budget.
