To the Editor:

Matt Cole of Newtown is an outstanding candidate for State Representative in the Democratic Party.

His responsible commitment to serve this high office in the State of Connecticut will prove him worthy of the work he hopes to achieve.

I believe Matt's new opportunity to be eligible to serve the citizens of Connecticut will be a time of both planning and action; a time to work cohesively and consistently; a time to build relationships that further his vision for a solid working government for the people and by the people.

Matt's degree in social work has given him the necessary resources to empower the lives of people, so as to better equip them to follow through with a vision of hope and recovery for their lives, and ultimately in the lives of others. Matt's faithful commitment to the Newtown Congregational Church, particularly in serving the Ecumenical Workcamp for many years, is also a powerful testimony to his compassion toward his neighbor in need both near and far.

It is written: “It takes a village to raise a child.” As one of Matt's Pastors, though recently retired as associate pastor of the Newtown Congregational Church, we are a faith community who strives to prepare our children and youth to become responsible citizens. It is with great honor that we endorse and support Matt Cole as State Representative, a position of great privilege, honor and integrity.
