Woodbury Man Charged in Internet Sex Case
Police have arrested a Woodbury man, charging him with three crimes stemming from his allegedly using the Internet in seeking a sexual encounter with a minor in Newtown.
Kevin Pierwola, 37, of Upper Grassy Hill Road, Woodbury, was charged on October 4 with risk of injury to a minor, criminal attempt to commit risk of injury to a minor, and use of a computer to entice a minor to engage in sexual activity.
In a statement on the arrest, police said, âThis investigation involved communications through the use of computers whereby [Pierwola] drove to Newtown with the intent of having sexual encounters with a minor.â
Police said that after he arrived in Newtown, they arrested Pierwola on the three charges. Police said the apprehension involved an on-sight arrest, not a warrant-based arrest. Detective Jason Frank is the investigator.
Police declined to provide details about the case, adding that the investigation is ongoing.
After arrest processing, Pierwola posted $15,000 bail and was released for an October 19 arraignment in Danbury Superior Court.
