28… Brushy Hill Farm in Southbury will host a Halloween Horse Show on Sunday, October 28. Contestants will dress themselves and their hostumes in costumes and a panel of judges will rank each based on originality and best costume. After the costume competition, contestants will compete in several games such as flag race, sit-a-buck, water ride and more. Ribbons will be awarded, but emphasis is on fun. Fee is $95. 29… The Newtown Bridle Lands Association will hold its annual Frost on the Pumpkin Hunter Pace on Sunday, October 29, on Mount Nebo Road. Start times will be from 8 am to 12 noon with lunch from 11 am to 2 pm. Entries closes October 26 or when full. Special prizes will be given for best costumed team, oldest horse and rider combination, and the “Peanut” award to the youngest rider. Cost is $70 for NBLA members and $75 for non-members ($45 and $50 for juniors). To register, call the NBLA contact line at 791-4853.

29... The Woodbury Litchfield Hills Foxhounds will have a Guest Hunt with the Smithtown Hunt Club of New York on Sunday, October 29, at Anderson Farm in Morris. 5... Brushy Hill Farm will hold amn Adult Only Horse Show on Sunday, November 5, at 12 noon, at the farm on Coachman’s Drive in Southbury. Beginner and intermediate classes will include leadline, walk/trot, walk/trot with individual canter, walk/trot canter, poles/crossrails, equitation, pleasure, English and Western. There will also be games on horseback. FOr further information, call Ev at 262-6466. In the event of rain, show will be held indoors.
