Justin B. Potter, 19, of Pheasant Ridge Road died October 7 from injuries received in an automobile accident in Brookfield.

Justin was born in Burlington, Vt., on July 6, 1987, the son of John W. and Lynn (Bernhart) Potter. He was a graduate of Newtown High School, Class of 2005, and was attending the University of Hartford where he was studying information technology. For the past two years, Justin was employed at Office Max in Brookfield.

Justin was passionate about computers. He loved Dean Koonz novels, the movie Scarface, and watching his brother play football at Newtown High School. Justin was a fan of the Denver Broncos, the Colorado Avalanche, and the Atlanta Braves. He enjoyed rap music.

In addition to his parents, Justin is survived by a brother, Christopher, of Newtown; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Safford of Harwichport, Mass.; his paternal grandmother, Hazel Potter of Wellsville, N.Y.; an aunt, Dale Adamek and her family of Virginia Beach, Va.; and an uncle, Jim Potter and his family of Henrietta, N.Y.

A memorial service was held October 11 at the Newtown Meeting House.

Contributions may be made to the Newtown Scholarship Association, PO Box 302, Newtown CT,   06470 for a scholarship in memory of Justin.

Arrangements were by the Honan Funeral Home, Newtown.
