‘Elements’ Photo Exhibit At Woodbury Library

WOODBURY — Until October 31, Woodbury Public Library is presenting “Elements: A Thousand Words,” a collection of the works of photographers Mark Isolda and Cynthia O’ Connor.

The show represents the diversity in style and interpretation of the elements in our universe. As Thomas Merton said, “One of the most important – and neglected – elements in the beginning of the interior life is the ability to respond to reality, to see the value and the beauty in ordinary things, to come alive to the splendor that is all around us.

Mr Isolda, of Bridgewater, has been a professional photographer for 30 years. His work encompasses urban scenes and architecture as well as rural studies. His equestrian photography is known throughout the New England area. He works in digital.

Ms O’Connor, of Sherman, works in film and digital. She captures the beauty of the world with an eye towards the irony and juxtaposition that is before us or that we have created. The simple drama of light and dark is pervasive in her work.

Woodbury Public Library at 269 Main Street South, is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, from 10 am to 5 pm, and on Tuesday and Thursday from 10 am until 9 pm. For more information call the library at 263-3502.
