RIDGEFIELD â Stepping Stone Farm in Ridgefield is taking registrations for its Adult Afternoon Riding Program and is also taking registrations for its Fall riding program which starts on November 1.
Pre-school, youth and adult riding groups contain two to four students each and will be scheduled six days a week. Riders will be placed in beginner, advanced beginner, intermediate and advanced groups depending on experience.
Pre-school programs are for students aged three to six.
The farm offers both private and group lessons for the adult beginner to advanced rider. Stepping Stone is also the only facility in New England with two separate heated Olympic-sized riding arenas. For further information, call the office at 1-203-438-7749 between 9 am and 2 pm weekdays.
In other news, Stepping Stone riders Julianna Starbuck, Amanda Starbuck, Kathy Russell, Jean Russell, Rachel Rose and Dr Leila Wood competed in the Old Salem Horse Show on October 1-3.
Juliana Starbuck, Stepping Stoneâs head trainer, rode Continental in the four-foot Regular Working Hunter Division as well as the Regular Working Hunter Under Saddle divisions and earned two second-place ribbons and a first-place ribbon.
Amanda Starbuck rode Rio Bravo in the Hunter 18-35 divisions, earning two fifth-place and one first-place ribbon on Saturday and fifth- and seventh-place ribbons on Sunday.
Kathy Russell rode Continental in the Hunter 36+ division with two thirds and a sixth. Jean Russell rode Festive Quail in the Schooling Hunter division and earned two third-place ribbons and a fifth-place ribbon. In the Childrenâs Hunter division, she was second, third and fifth.
Dr Leila Wood rode Paddington Bear in the Adult Equitation Flat and the Adult Equitation Over Fences and earned a first-place (flat) and two second-place (Over Fences and PHA Adult Medal) finishes. In the Fairfield Westchester Adult year-end medal finals, she finished second.
