Motorist Kevin J. Hubert, 37, of Waterbury was reported in critical condition in the intensive care unit of Danbury Hospital Thursday morning, following a two-vehicle accident late Monday night on Mile Hill Road near the entrance to the Pootatuck Fish and Game Club. Another driver in the accident, Robert Capodieferro, 36, of Naugatuck, was reported in good condition in the hospital Thursday morning. Mr Hubert was driving a 1995 Ford Escort station wagon eastbound about 11:40 pm and crossed the road’s center line as he was negotiating a curve, entering the westbound lane where the Ford collided head-on with a westbound 1992 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck driven by Mr Capodieferro, police said.  After the crash, the truck went off the road and over a guardrail, police said. Newtown Hook and Ladder firefighters extricated both men from their vehicles. The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported both men to the hospital. Police are investigating the accident. They ask anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them at 426-5841.                                                                                      –Bee Photo, Bigham
