Hike To The Top Of The Den

WESTON – On Saturday October 23, The Nature Conservancy is sponsoring a seven-mile hike that will feature some spectacular views as the hike winds its way from high rocky ledges down to a reservoir below.

Hikers will carpool to the start at the Redding Land Trust’s forested Brinckerhoff Nature Preserve, cross the top of Devil’s Den, and stop for lunch at the Great Ledge to enjoy spectacular views over the reservoir before descending to travel reservoir trails back to the parking area. The hike will take place from 9 am to 1 pm.

Leaders will be Eric Nelson and Heather Seymour of Ridgefield. Eric Nelson is a trail adopter for part of the route, and both are trained Natural History Guides, so they know the forest well.

Participants should pack water and a snack lunch and call Devil’s Den office at 226-4991 to make a reservation and for directions to the location of the off-site parking area.
