Disaster Center To Close

DANBURY – The Disaster Recovery Center located at Danbury City Hall, 155 Deer Hill Avenue, will close at 7 pm on Friday, October 15, according to Federal /State recovery officials.

“Even though the Danbury Center is closing,” Federal coordinating Officer Sharon Stoffel said, “people who have already registered for assistance can continue to receive personalized help by calling the FEMA Helpline.”

The Helpline number is 800/525-0321, or 800/462-7585 (TTY) for the hearing and speech impaired. Hours of operation are 7 am until 7 pm,  seven days a week until further notice.

“Helpline personnel can provide people with information about State and Federal programs triggered as a result of the September 23 Presidential Declaration,” State Coordinating Officer John T. Wiltse said.

People who wish to check the status of their U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) disaster loan applications or who need help completing SBA forms may call SBA at 800/659-2955.

People with Tropical Storm Floyd-related damage and losses who have not already registered for aid are encouraged to do so immediately by calling 800/462-9029 or 800/462-7585 (TTY) for the hearing and speech impaired. Hours of operation are 7 am until 7 pm, seven days a week until further notice. The application deadline is November 22.
