To the Editor:

The Newtown Board of Education needs someone who can see both sides of an issue. Someone who can step away from partisan politics and put the needs of the students, the staff, and the parents first. That person is Bruce Walczak.

Bruce is a successful business owner, with a wealth of knowledge in many diverse areas. He majored in economics in college and has a broad understanding of finance. Bruce also has strong leadership skills. As a past president of the Newtown Lions, he was a diplomatic, respectful, and inclusive leader who got things done. Bruce listens to people and always thinks before he speaks.

Bruce is an Independent Party candidate. I’m a registered democrat, but because of Bruce, I’m voting for the man, not the party this year. Bruce does not have to take a partisan stance on any issue and therefore can work with both parties to be the voice of reason and common sense. That’s why we need to vote for Bruce Walczak on November 7th.
