To celebrate its move to new corporate headquarters at 30 Peckâs Lane in Newtown, The Wind Group, an alliance of four industrial firms, held a grand opening event there on the evening of October 4.
Patrick Wind, president of The Wind Group, said, âTodayâs event is in part a celebration of the growth and prosperity of our companies at a time when growth and prosperity are difficult to achieve.
âItâs a celebration of the hope and optimism that we have in our local, state, and federal officials to recognize that given the chance and the right environment, businesses of all sizes can thrive⦠Today, we support some of this countryâs largest companies including, in Connecticut alone, the likes of Nestle Waters, Honeywell, Thule, and Sikorsky â and we feel like weâre just getting started,â Mr Wind said in prepared remarks.
âNine short months ago, we purchased this building and all the equipment inside. In 2012 alone, weâve invested in technology, automation, and other capital improvements and upgrades. And weâre on track to double the number of employees that we had just last year,â he added. The Wind Group currently employs about 30 people.
âThank you all for joining me today to celebrate the grand opening of our new facility and what we hope is the start of much more to come. I congratulate all those who have contributed to this achievement,â he said.
The grand opening, which was held in a warehouse section of the 60,000-square-foot industrial/office building, included tours of the facility, as well as a cocktail reception.
